king108 SG Allow me to quote "Experts warn against complacency during warmer summer months." "H5N1 at room temperatures can stay alive for at least a week in wet conditions," said Dr Webster. I being to worry..Singapore is warm and wet..(Humid). I read the article on eggs / chicken farm in singapore. I realised that we better get rid of it. Buy more expensive eggs is better than to take the risk of H5N1. I suggest to get rid of it. Meantime, sorry all bird lover, please do that for singaporean. The ministry may want to ban all pet birds in singapore and also allow us to volunteer to shot on site. I don't want singaporean life to be risked because of the small amount of economic. It's is no worthed for the small amount. Sorry birdie, we love you. We loved singapore more..
king108 SG Heard about another case happened in other country on the radio. I suggest the authorities to seriously look into moving the chicken farm totally from singapore. Let the 3rd world countries to produce eggs for us. Our life is more expensive then the amount of eggs produced by the few eggs farm here. Does it make sense to keep them further here, unless we are sure that they will be harmless. Foreigner investors will also worried when they know that singapore also have a "time bomb" here. Don't you think so? Still needed to plan for this?
king108 SG Singaporean life is expensive ..I don't wish to compared ourselve with 3rd world countries.
macjoe SG We already have a timebomb in Biopolis with mass population around it. With H5N1 patients, hospitals can easily become bigger timebombs.
will4 SG This bird flu is a global problem n Spore govt cannot afforf to let it penetrate into here or the economy will be affected.
king108 SG My main concern is that one case is enough to destroy the whole tourist industrial here. Rich Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese won't come here..how to make money from them
Anti-RuleSS SG Don’t worry, PAP are very good in solving such problem. Else why singaporeans vote for them? Since they get such high pay then they should use their brain more…
OH-FF SG We must ham-tam the birds until white frost come out of the bird's mouth! Say no to bird flu , Set Up Cage barrier or force field so that Birds cannot fly out of the country to catch bird flu! All pet birds must go for regular medical checks and collect $$ from their owners for flu injections. Print permits for birds and sell permits at $50 per bird!
king108 SG I read The Strait Times this morning. "Five more people die of bird flu in Indonesia" and "Fight against virus could be won - or lost - in Jakarta" I selectively quote "Unless richer nations use their cash to attack the problem at source, the pandemic the world dreads may confound the best efforts to avert it". Are we doing anything or still in the stage of planning only
king108 SG How sure are we? If the eggs are produced in any 3rd World Countries. Still got risks, if you had read the manmake eggs from China. Only Australia's egg can buy.
